Eli's first Boo-Boo

Well, last night I was attempting to trim Eli's fingernails. This of course is a dreaded duty considering he absolutely hates it and fights me the whole time. Surprisingly, I had managed to trim almost all of them without too much hassle, but when it came down to the last few nails, he started to really freak out. He was pulling away with all his might and screaming at the top of his lungs and somehow on his thumbnail I ended up cutting him a little too far under the nail. :( He started bleeding a little and he was already screaming, but of course this only added to the volume. Mommy proceeded to kiss his boo-boo many times and after a few hugs and kisses all was well. :) Here are some pics of the dreaded boo-boo. I'm pretty sure this is his first boo-boo that a Doctor didn't give him! :)

I'm sure he will appreciate all of your sympathy. (I will too!)

He looks so pitiful! :)

More Eli Spam...

Took some fun pics of Eli today in the front yard... He was of course his usual cheerful self and was just adorable with his new Gap sweater (clearance!) and other clothes Mom and I found on sale this week... Normally this outfit would have been worn with jeans, but they were dirty, so ignore the non matched pants! :)

Hope you enjoy!

Smiling at Grandma...

Grandma was freaking out cause she thought it was too cold! (rolling eyes) ;)

Everytime a car came by I had to check it out!

I love to stare into space for no apparant reason...

Mommy tells great jokes...

Yes, I am THAT cool.

I suck on my lip when my Mom starts to drive me crazy...

Mommy is just too funny

Too cute...

Eli's First Halloween Party...

Well, today Eli went to his first Halloween Party with his cousin Haylee and a bunch of other little cuties. :) He was invited by Bricen, who has been having a Halloween Bash for the last 3 years. I feel I should disclose that Bricen is 3, so I'm guessing it was his Mommy that actually invited Eli. :)

Anyways, we had a really good time and Eli was such a good boy enduring his Pumpkin Costume like a champ. :) I took quite a few pics, and thought y'all would like to see them. Also, I wanted to take some pics of him in front of these pretty flowers and he just decided he was gonna sit up all the way! It wasn't just the sortof sitting up, but fully straight supporting himself!! He would only do it for like 30 seconds or so, but still that is really good for his age. I'm so proud of our little man! :)

Hope you enjoy...

Slide show I've been working on...

Well, I don't know if I have blogged about it, but I had a little project I was working on for a couple days this past week and thought y'all might like to see it...

It is a pretty simple slide show, but I didn't want it to be very cluttered because the song really speaks for itself. (It's called, My Little Girl, by Tim McGraw) Although it is pretty simple, it still took me a couple days to get it done because I had some issues with the scanner, and I have a very needy 4 month old to worry about too. :) I did it for a friend of Amy's, who's daughter turned 40 on Monday. Here's the link to her blog... Amy's Blog
He didn't tell anyone about it including his wife and son-in-law, so I'm sure it was quite the surprise! Anyways, everyone seemed to like it, and hopefully I achieved my goal of making them cry a little and laugh a lot. :) Let me know what you think...

Never turn your back on a 4 month old...

I decided to sit Eli in the recliner, so I could finish my popcorn. (It's only 1 point, so it is an easy go to snack) He was being really good and just chillin with his toy.
Anyways, I looked back about 30 seconds later and this is what I found... :)
He wasn't fussing or anything, just laying there staring at the TV. (Did I mention the kid will almost break his neck to look at the TV :( Don't worry, I try to limit TV whenever possible) I thought it was really cute, so I thought y'all might like to see it too. :)

More Random pics...

Some great people at church got Eli another bouncer at a yard sale and brought it for him last night at church. Well, he really enjoys it and it has this neat aquarium "tank" on the front that has water in it that bubbles and moves the fishies around. He was enjoying it tonight and looking adorable as usual, so I thought I would take a few pics for Daddy and thought y'all would like to see them too.

Hope you enjoy...

So Happy...He likes to laugh for MommyHere is what he likes to stare at.
(Although if you can tell, he's actually looking at the TV this time!)He's getting so big!
This pic just cracks me up!

This time he's laughing for Grandma

So serious...

Eli trying to sit up...

Just thought y'all would like to see Eli's attempt at sitting up... :) He's tried a few times for a few seconds, but this is the first time he's really been stable at all. I know it is not completely sitting up, but for a barely 4 month old, I think it's pretty good. :)

Hope you enjoy...

Our little TV addict... :)

But Mommy is just so much funnier...

I love this smile...

Laughing even as I topple over. :) (Don't worry, I caught him!)

It's shots time again. :(

Well, if you hadn't noticed, Eli is now officially 4 months old! I cannot believe the time has passed so fast, but our little boy is really growing up fast! :(

Wednesday he had his 4 month check up and shots and he was such a good boy for everything. :) He just smiled and cooed at the Doctor and Nurse and made his Mommy proud. He did pretty good with the shots too considering the Doctor kind of took his time this time around. :( He screamed of course, but then calmed down pretty quickly after I held him. We thought everything was good until we went to church that night and everything seemed to fall apart. I put him in the nursery and within about 5 minutes he started to scream and screamed pretty much non-stop for an hour or so. :( Granted that was with me going to get him after about 10 minutes. :( He wouldn't eat or be pacified in any way. That is so very unlike him, so I knew that he must of been feeling pretty bad. I finally was able to get him to sleep and we headed home. Then Mom got him to eat about an ounce before he collapsed on her shoulder. She brought him down, and he felt so very hot to me. I took his tempature and it was 101.1, so I gave him some Tylenol and put him down. He slept till about 6 am and still had a fever all day of about 99.5-100.4 all day long. :( I called the Doc and he said just keep giving him Tylenol, and if he is still feverish in 24 hours to call him. He really was so pitiful... He would just sit there with a blank look on his face and moan and moan! :(

Thankfully, he woke up feeling much better today and the fever is gone, but seriously getting his shots is no fun for the little guy or anyone else around him for those 1-2 days after! :)

Oh, and he was 18 lbs 2 oz and 25 3/4 inches long. :) That puts him in the 95th percentile for weight and 65th percentile for height. I'm sure that will even out in time, but he really doesn't look like a short, fat kid, I promise! ;)

Fair Times

Well, today Heather and I had planned to go to the Cleveland County Fair, which is the Largest County Fair in North Carolina by the way! I had thought it would be fun to have Haylee go with us, but didn't know what we would do with her when we rode the "scary" rides. Well, Mom heard me discussing it and said that she wouldn't have a problem going with us and she would just watch Eli and Haylee when we rode the scarier, bigger rides. So, we went and picked up Haylee yesterday afternoon and she spent the night at our house and then this afternoon Heather came over and we all piled up and headed for the fair! We got there a little early, so we checked out the livestock and then got some tickets and headed for the much awaited rides! Let me just say that Haylee must have gotten her braveness from Chris, cause I don't remember Renee being that brave! :) Remember, she is only 4 and she rode a few of the "big people" rides and didn't blink an eye! I was of course gripping onto her because I was so afraid she would fly out and she had to keep asking me why I was holding onto her cause she was fine!? She was SOOO much fun and it really made the day a blast cause she was so brave and happy. :)

I wasn't really sure how Eli would react and he was SUCH a good boy! We got there about 3:15 or so and he stayed in his car seat/stroller until he ate at 6:00. Then he went right back in until we headed home at about 8:15. He definitely LOVES the outdoors, that's for sure! He was such a happy, smiling baby, and I'm so glad we decided to have Mom come and watch him at the Fair instead of staying home.

We also enjoyed a few indulgences which I reveled in immensely! I had half of a much-loved funnel cake and some Pepsi and it almost made me sick to my stomach because I haven't had anything that rich in weeks! :) I definitely am right back on the diet tonight and actually only went over my points by 6 and really didn't go over my weekly allowance, so hopefully I won't gain too much weight come weigh-in on Thursday! :(

Here are a couple pics I took with Nay's camera cause I didn't want to lug my big Nikon around, so hope you enjoy... :)
